Amanda's Story

Amanda Feilding founded The Beckley Foundation in 1998, as a part of her 55-year career at the forefront of psychedelic science and global policy reform. She partnered with researchers at some of the world's most prestigious institutions and co-founded Beckley Retreats. She’s been dubbed everything from ‘The Countess of Psychedelics’ (Wired Magazine) to the ‘Queen of Consciousness’ (The Telegraph). Her role at Beckley Retreats was always one of vision – bringing scientific rigor, cultural respect, and deep humanity together to create safe, meaningful spaces for change.

Amanda Feilding (1943–2025) passed peacefully in May 2025, surrounded by family and friends at the age of 82. Her vision and courage remain at the heart of Beckley Retreats, continuing to guide our work and inspire all who step into this path of self-improvement.

What it is and Why it Exists

The Amanda Feilding Memorial Fund exists to make these experiences accessible to those who would not otherwise have the means to attend. Established to honor Amanda's 55 years at the forefront of psychedelic science and policy reform, the Fund carries forward her belief that this work belongs to everyone, not just those who can afford it. Through our fiscal sponsorship with Reconsider, 100% of every tax-deductible donation goes directly to a recipient.

The Ripple Effect

Amanda believed this work ripples outward, changing individuals, who change their communities. Recipients join our full 11-week Signature Program, the same world-class experience our paying guests attend, and return to their lives carrying something new. They're welcomed into our alumni network and tracked alongside our research partners, so the work moves the field forward. Every contribution, at any size, helps extend that ripple further.

Pay it Forward

Recipients don't simply receive. Many return as ambassadors, sharing their story to help others along the way, and carrying the work into their professions, neighborhoods, and families.
