Jason Worton
Facilitator
“One Love, One Heart”- Bob Marley
“We’re all just walking each other home”- Ram Dass
His Role
Jason brings his love of music and yoga to Beckley’s retreats, along with a grounding presence and energy. Sharing meditative practices and a lightheartedness, Jason is also an avid student of his home Jamaica’s history and culture- elements that find their way into the ceremonies and fire circles that he is sometimes responsible for co-leading.
His Story
One of the first things that Jason wanted to be was a yogi, but the very first thing he wanted to be was a musician. These foundations have guided his life path and career, along with a connection to the land and the medicines that it gives. After over a decade as a respected musician in the international Reggae industry, Jason began getting more involved in the growing wellness space in Jamaica. He now works mostly in yoga and retreat spaces, teaching and leading soundbaths, and facilitating Psilocybin journeys.
By the time formal therapeutic psychedelic offerings began emerging in the country, Jason had long been deepening his own relationship with Jamaica’s native Psilocybe Cubensis Mushrooms. During his transition of careers, it was his own experience of many of the things that often bring guests to Beckley- illness and disability, grief and the pressures of life- that deepened his journey into ancient practices that align us into our innate healing potential. Jason encourages courage, curiosity, and compassion in all of Beckley’s guests.
His Why
Jason considers himself fortunate as a Jamaican to live in a time and place where people can openly access so many healing modalities, and to be able to share and give strength to others who seek to follow their path. As he sees it, “when you help someone else climb the mountain, you find that you too have climbed the mountain”.
